This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies to you, the information below applies accordingly, and you can exercise the rights those laws give you.
2. Visiting this website
When you open a page, the web server processes technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, and browser and operating system information. This data is used only to operate the website securely and reliably, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short period.
Under the GDPR, the legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website runs on the operator's own infrastructure in a data centre in Germany. Under Swiss law, Germany provides an adequate level of data protection.
3. Cookies, tracking and third-party content
This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools, no advertising and no social media plugins. Fonts, scripts and images are delivered from this website's own server. No data is sent to font services, content delivery networks or advertising networks.
The time-zone display runs entirely in your browser using your device's clock. Nothing is sent anywhere.
4. Domain check
The "Check your domain" form sends the domain you enter directly to dmarc-geeks.ch when you submit it, and opens the result there. DMARC Geeks is a service operated by Nils Lappenbusch. It reads publicly available DNS records of the domain. The DMARC Geeks privacy policy (in German) applies to that processing. Nothing is sent before you press the button.
5. Contact by email
If you write to me, I process your message and contact details to answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss a role or project. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or the legitimate interest in answering your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Recruiters and hiring managers: I treat information about vacancies and your organisation as confidential.
6. Disclosure
Your data is not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to provide something you asked for or is required by law. The email mailbox is operated by a hosting provider acting on my behalf.
7. Retention
Personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as long as statutory retention obligations require.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you and to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and, where applicable, to data portability and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the supervisory authority of your country, and in Singapore the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
